For this paper, you will apply the theories learned in Hamden-Turner and Trompennars (2000) by analyzing communication practices in an intercultural film.

In this assignment you will form a team who will redesign a technical manual for a specific intercultural audience. You will need to research your intended audience (country statistics, popular communication practices, demographics, etc.) and submit a proposal as to why your team should be hired along with a mockup of the revised manual. Once you've successfully been hired, you will redesign the manual and, finally, reflect on your redesign process as a team.

Assignment 3: Emerging Communication Practices Report (Pairs)

The purpose of this assignment is to problem solve a document design situation that deals with an emerging technology, for example an iPad, an online social network, or an internet-enabled mobile device. As intercultural communicators, your team will develop a proposal in effort to be hired to write a report that addresses either a product or a service related to an emerging technology and that targets an intercultural audience. After you've successfully been hired, you will research your topic, produce a final report and, finally, reflect on your redesign process as a team. After your team has been successfully been hired to create a document for an emerging technology. Each week, you will continue to engage in the conversations we carry out in the classroom by using the online course blog. You will be expected to post responses to a weekly/bi-weekly discussion topic and you will be graded based on the quality and frequency of your participation.
